Paresh Baruah (Assamese : পৰেশ বৰুৱা), also known by his alias Paresh Asom, is a insurgent with the armed insurgent group ULFA, which is seeking sovereignty for Assam from the Indian Union. He is the vice-chairperson and the commander-in-chief of the United Liberation Front of Assam – Independent (ULFA – I).He also uses several other aliases, namely, Kamruj Zaman Khan, Nur-uz-Zaman and Zaman Bhai. It is pertinent to mention that he is currently residing in China under the protection of the state."
